Augusta Photos – Landscape Photography of Western Australia

Locations

Augusta is a small town nestled next to the sheltered waters of the Hardy Inlet, inside Flinders Bay. It backs onto the wild Southern Ocean and is surrounded by rugged coastline. The Hardy Inlet offers perfectly calm water which is great for swimming and other water activity. Upstream it passes Molloy Island and connects to the Blackwood River.

It’s a popular holiday town with lots to do, including windsurfing and kite-surfing, snorkelling, boating, fishing, and whale watching. Just outside of town is Cape Leeuwin and the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where visitors can take a tour to the top of the lighthouse. The lighthouse also marks the end of the 135km Cape to Cape Walking Track which begins at Cape Naturaliste. Other popular nearby places include Boranup Forest, Jewel Cave, and Hamelin Bay.

There are plenty of nice drives in the area as well such as Skippy Rock Rd just near Cape Leeuwin. Caves Rd towards Hamelin bay is a scenic drive as well, passing locations like Cosy Corner. You can even make the trek across to East Augusta. With much of the landscape being unspoilt, there’s plenty of photos to take too!
