Albany Photos – Western Australia

Locations

Albany is one of Western Australia’s major city centres. It is also the oldest permanently settled town in the state, 2 years older than Perth. It has a busy port with other main industries being tourism, fishing, timber and agriculture.

Albany is nestled on the waterfront of the King George Sound, in the Great Southern region, and is absolutely brimming with nearby natural wonders. It is well known for its picturesque landscapes, bushland, and farmland, as well as rugged and wild coastlines, but also for white, sandy sheltered beaches, perfect for swimming.

Just around the city itself, there are plenty of locations that offer visitors opportunities to see spectacular scenery. Middleton Beach and Emu Point are very popular swimming beaches, and the Ellen Cove Boardwalk is a very scenic walkway with great views of King George Sound and Middleton Beach and continues into town. The Rotary Lookout is another great view of the Sound.  The Mt Melville Lookout is a perfect place to get a spectacular 360-degree view of Albany and the surrounding hills and ocean.

A short drive outside of town, you have access to even more of the area’s attractions. Places like The Gap and Natural Bridge, Albany Wind Farm, The Blow Holes, Goode Beach, Muttonbird Beach, Frenchman Bay, Stony Hill, Two People’s Bay, and Shelly Beach at West Cape Howe, are just a handful of the amazing places not far from Albany. For a photographer, it’s like being a kid in a candy store, because it’s one of those areas where you’re so spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning scenery, you don’t know where to start!

This selection of Albany Photos is available as framed and unframed prints in a variety of media.
