Point Picquet Photos, Western Australia

Locations

Point Picquet is a location near Eagle Bay where the rocky coastline protrudes into the deeper water of Geographe Bay. It is well known by whale watchers as one of the locations where whales pass closest to the coast. I have seen whales passing 50-75 metres from the point. There are frequently people monitoring whale activity from this location. It is also a popular fishing location and turns on some good surfing waves in the winter months as well. The shapely bay and turquoise water make it a popular scenic stop for travellers, but you rarely see people swimming because the shoreline is usually quite rocky but small sandy beaches do form from time to time and afford swimmers a comfortable place to enter the crystal clear water.

This selection of Point Picquet Photos is available as framed and unframed prints in a variety of media.
