Locations

Injidup is a stunning beach only a short distance south from Yallingup townsite. Follow Caves Road south from Yallingup until you come upon Wyadup Road. Wyadup Road is a short but beautiful drive through the canopy of mature trees with farmland either side and culminating in a breath taking view of the Indian Ocean. Turning left onto Cape Clairault Road will lead you to the Injidup Beach carpark. The name Injidup, originates from the Nyoongar word Inji for a plant named Templetonia retusa (also known as Cocky’s tongue), which is renowned for its splendid orange/red pea flowers. These plants flower in spring along the limestone cliffs.  Injidup beach is cove-like and a great place for a long walk to the rocks ahead.
It is also a popular surfing spot and when the swell is high it can be hard to find a parking spot anywhere near the small carpark. Fishermen also frequent this location with plenty of beach space and a frequent catch of local species. The cape to cape track winds though this location making it easy to explore on foot. One frequent sight is dolphins surfing the waves and whales cruising the coastline.

This selection of Injidup photography is available as framed and unframed prints in a variety of media.
